So why did I decide to create a blog about “Create Your Own Website for Free“? Was it something that came to me in a dream? Did I overhear someone discussing it secretively at Starbucks? Alright enough with that, I think you get the picture, there were no miraculous signs or divine inspiration (at least not directly). The “Create Your Own Website for Free“ website is really about compiling my personal lessons learned from building several blogs and websites without investing a whole lot of cash. The blog is primarily aimed at assisting those who are new to creating websites. However, my aim is to also provide useful tips and advice that anyone can use to create a website for free.
In some cases, I did spend money on components that I didn’t really need to. I have learned many lessons in building these websites and blogs and on “Create Your Own Website for Free“, I will share what I have learned so that you don’t have to make the same mistakes. My goal is to guide you to the right resources to get your free website or free blog up and running quickly.
As time goes on, I will update you on new plugins and features that can enhance the website you created for free even after it is up and running. I hope to have some guest publishers post a few articles about what has made their websites successful as well. Steve Jobs was credited with saying:
“Everything around you that you call life, was made up by people that were no smarter than you. – Steve Jobs”
… and you know that is so true. All of the websites you see on the Internet were started by people who had to learn about its rules, tools, and etiquette just like you are now. So please do not get discouraged. If you have questions or run into issue, don’t be afraid to ask for help. You can leave a comment here on the blog, send me an email, or ask around other websites. The key is to keep pressing forward. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, because trust me, you will make them. My philosophy is make them and embrace them, learn from them and then move on. The great thing about the Internet is that it is digital and if you mess up you can always change it. The worst website you can have whether it is a free website or paid website, is a static website. Don’t be afraid to experiment. </End of Rant>
Anyway, my plan is to provide the simple steps you need to take to select the platform, themes, plugins, content, and traffic generation plan so that you can learn how to make a website for free. Don’t worry if you don’t know what a theme or plugin is, or why you even need one. I will cover that in the getting started part of the blog. The common sense rule that we have all heard before prevails here as well: Keep It Super Simple (KISS). Many people get caught up in all of the options and features of different themes and plugins. On the “Create Your Own Website for Free“ blog, I will show you how to determine what features you need, so that you can find the theme that will work best for your free website.
Thank you so much for reading my blog about how to Create Your Own Website for Free.
Best of Luck,
